Timber Frame Construction
Timber frame construction is becoming more popular as structures can be built very easily and quickly. However, due to the very nature of the material, should a fire occur during construction, this can have devastating consequences as fire can swiftly spread and a structure can rapidly collapse if the timber frame is unprotected.
Timber Frame ‘Off Site’ Fire Risk Assessment
At Marpal, we undertake pre-construction Timber Frame “Off Site” Fire Risk Assessments to ensure that during the design phase fire risks are identified and appropriate fire precautions are considered by the design team. The assessment will also consider the risk of a fire on the construction site spreading to neighbouring buildings.
Construction Phase Fire Risk Assessment
Our Construction Phase Fire Risk Assessments are carried out when the timber frame construction is being erected. The purpose of this Fire Risk Assessment is to ensure that there are no unsafe practices on site and that fire safety procedures, fire prevention measures and fire precautions are all in place and working properly.
Fire Safety Consultation – Timber Frame
Marpal also offer Fire Consultancy Services. As part of this service we can assist with any fire safety consultation that you require regarding timber frame constructions, from the design and planning stage, through to completion.
Our Timber Framed Fire Risk Assessments are endorsed by HSE
The HSE act in an enforcement capacity, to check that suitable fire arrangements are in place during the construction phase. Fire safety is of a great concern to the HSE, with current HSE statistics stating that there are 11 construction fires each day on construction sites.
Marpal are proud of the fact that the HSE have endorsed our Timber Framed Fire Risk Assessments. Having been audited on site, the HSE have requested, and now use our risk assessment as an example of “Good Practice”.
