Paul Littlewood BSc (Hons) IMaPS
As Managing Director, Paul has overall responsibility and control of the company’s operations. Paul is a focused individual, who demonstrates exceptional organisational skills and is highly committed to ensuring that a high quality, reliable service is provided across all departments.
After obtaining a 2:1 BSc Honours Degree in Construction Management, Paul worked as a Site Manager for Taylor Woodrow before moving to Bovis Lend Lease where he worked as a Site Manager and later a Planning Supervisor. In 1998, Paul left Bovis Lend Lease and became the founding Director at Marpal.
Paul has accumulated over 20 years’ experience in construction health and safety and is an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety. Paul has successfully delivered a wide variety for projects as Planning Supervisor, CDM Co-ordinator and CDM Consultant. Such projects include major refurbishment, demolition and new build schemes of diverse complexities and differing values within industry sectors such as defence, health, education, leisure, commercial, rail, industrial, processing, nuclear etc.
Tom Price IMaPS Tech IOSH
Tom possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in construction having worked in various management roles over the last 30 years. Tom has spent the last 18 years working within the health and safety sector fulfilling roles such as CDM Co-ordinator, Asbestos Surveyor and Asbestos Manager.
Having joined Marpal in 2007 as a Senior CDM Co-ordinator, Tom became Associate Director in 2009. Since 2011, Tom has headed the Asbestos Management Department and has managed Asbestos on behalf of a number of high profile Clients across their property portfolios.
Tom is also a qualified Asbestos Surveyor and has undertaken hundreds of Management and Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys to UKAS standards. Tom has also obtained the BOHS P405 Certificate and manages Asbestos abatement works on behalf of Clients.
Tom is an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPS) and a Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Tech IOSH).
Adrian Gouldin BSc (Hons) MRICS GIFireE
Adrian Heads the Fire Safety Department and has a wealth of experience in evaluating fire strategies, agreeing fire safety designs in buildings and carrying out fire risk assessments. After obtaining a BSc (Hons) Degree in Building Surveying, Adrian later obtained Chartered status and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Adrian has the NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety & Risk Management and is also a member and registered fire risk assessor with the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE). Adrian has carried out Fire Risk Assessments for most types of non-domestic buildings, carried out fire compartmentation surveys prepared Fire Evacuation Strategies for high risk premises such as care homes and leisure facilities and also advises on fire safety precautions/strategies/means of escape during the design development phases on projects within industry sectors such as residential Care Homes (apartment blocks).
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, Adrian’s knowledge extends beyond fire safety as he also has extensive knowledge of building types, their construction and potential hazards that could affect people; in a previous role, Adrian was the Principal Building Control Surveyor leading a team of surveyors for a Local Authority.
John Lewis BSc Hons
John joined Marpal in 2008 as a CDM Co-ordinator, Health & Safety Advisor and an Asbestos Surveyor, progressing to Joint Head of CDM Services in 2016 and Associate Director in 2018. As well as coordinating the Department, John’s role involves allocating sufficient time and resources to various projects/commissions and liaising with Clients. John is also responsible for managing the Marpal quality management system.
John has proved to be a dynamic individual and an integral part of the Marpal team. John has accumulated over 12 years’ experience working in construction health and safety, within many sectors including Defence, Manufacturing, Processing, Health Care, Education, Housing, Commercial and Retail across the UK.
John’s approach and thoroughness ensures that the Client addresses significant health and safety issues, in full compliance with current health and safety legislation, specifically tailored to meet Client’s requirements/expectations.
John acts as a Health & Safety Advisor (Competent Person) to various Clients, ensuring that such organisations are compliant with current health and safety legislation and best practice. On behalf of various Clients, John has carried out Site Safety Inspections on construction activities, workplace Health and Safety Audits and assisted with the development of various bespoke health and safety documentation.
John is also a qualified Asbestos Surveyor and has undertaken hundreds of Management and Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
David Fisher BA BSc Hons AaPS
David has been newly promoted as Associate Director of Marpal Ltd after nearly 10 years with the company. David is the Joint Head of CDM Department and is responsible for the coordination and delivery of CDM Services. David is also responsible for business development and is committed to maintaining strong Client relationships.
David is self-motivated and highly dynamic and has successfully fulfilled the role of CDM Co-ordinator over a 9 year period and since 2015 has been assisting Clients, Principal Designers and Principal Contractors to comply with their duties under the CDM Regulations. David has worked within industry sectors such as Defence, Health Care, Education, Leisure, Housing, Commercial and Retail Sectors.
David’s thoroughness throughout the CDM process ensures that Duty Holders are informed, aware of the health and safety issues and remain compliant with the CDM Regulations.
David works with various Clients as a Health & Safety Advisor (Competent Person) to ensure they remain fully compliant with current health and safety legislation. David has successfully assisted numerous Clients to meet specified standards for enrolment onto prequalification schemes/preferred Contractor registers. In addition, David has assisted Contractors with the development of various health and safety documentation and undertaken Site Safety Inspections.
David is also a qualified Asbestos Surveyor and has also undertaken hundreds of Management and Refurbishment/Demolition Asbestos Surveys in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012; other roles have included re-inspections, Asbestos awareness briefings etc.
