At the beginning of January, Marpal decided to support Macmillan Cancer Support. Cancer effects almost everyone either directly or indirectly and Macmillan are there to provide emotional, physical and financial support for people living with cancer. Without the support of volunteers and fundraisers, the charity simply cannot provide the help and assistance that’s needed.
Macmillan was Marpal’s charity of choice and particularly fitting. During 2018, two members of the Marpal Team were diagnosed with cancer, since then they have both received radiotherapy as part of their treatment and are on the road to recovery.
Marpal’s fundraising activities have begun with Dress Down Friday’s, participants must contribute a minimum of £1 to come to work in casual dress. In addition, a well-stocked tuck shop has been set up where profits all go to Macmillan.
Other fund-raising activities are being considered including walking the Camino de Santiago, so watch this space for how we intend to raise much, much more for a great cause!
